Today is my schedule C-Section surgery so hubby and I will be heading to the hospital today. I am nervous and at the same time excited to see and hold my baby boy. Ihope and pray that everything will be fine.
I may take a month long (or more) blogging hiatus because I know I will need time to recover from the C-section. But most of all, I need time to bond with my baby and to adjust to my new life as a new mom.
One of my New Year's Resolution for 2012 is to start this year debt-free. I told hubby I will help him make sure we manage our finances better. I know most people here in the US have a lot of debt and it's just normal to acquire some. But I wanted to pay off all our credit card debt and try to control our use of our credit cards. Instead, we are using cash these days. I found out that we tend to spend less using cash since it's not as easy as swiping a card. So now, all we are buying are things that are really necessary. No more impulse buying and over-the-top spending.
My sister already got a degree in Banking & Finance. She used to work as a bookeeper and marketing assistant for a big beverage company in the Philippines. But she quit that job when she had her kids. But now that they're grown up, she wants to switch career and be a teacher. So she's getting education units and she's about to finish. She asked me if I can find her a book bag. Knowing my taste, she wants me to pick something for her. So being the good sister that I am, I am happy to oblige. Plus it will be my excuse to go shopping. LOL!
I went to see my OB the other day. There are quite a few patients there and two older women were kinda loud than the others there. They were talking about menopause and this therapy called bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.I have no idea what they are talking about but I can't help but listen since they were talking loudly anyway. When I got home, I searched that term in Google and found out that the therapy is used for menopausal symptom relief. I guess those two women are in there menopausal stage already. Maybe that's why they are there to see their doctors.

My brother is one of my best friends in life. He is funny, caring, and a great listener. I feel truly blessed to have a brother with whom I can confide in about anything. We live about five miles from each other, and we are always over at the other’s houses. We watch football games, have parties, and just hang out most weekends. He is in the business world, but his hours are not too bad. I own a small landscaping company, so most of my work is in the spring, summer, and fall. The winter is fairly dead, and I earn extra money by doing home improvement projects and minor contractor’s work in the winter time. My brother recently switched to fixed-rate energy by looking at shop electric rates in your area. He recommended it to me, and I recently made the switch as well. It is not the first time I have followed in my brother’s footsteps. He is the one who introduced me to my internet provider as well. He is always looking for a deal, and I am usually a beneficiary of his research.
Hubby is a musician. He plays the trumpet, the piano and the guitar. I, on the other hand, can't play any musical instrument at all. He got a good voice too while I don't. LOL! I am about to remedy that. No, I'm not getting voice lessons, but I am planning to learn how to play the guitar. Hubby offered to teach me and I think it will be a good idea to start with some easy guitar songs. It's always best to learn the basics and simple ones before I can go to more complicated pieces.
Hubby and I love to watched these TV shows about gold rush in Alaska.It seems very interesting and fun to watch. At the same time, we know that the price of gold this days is really going up. We all know that during tough times, gold will always be better than cash. That's why hubby is thinking about buying some gold as an investment security. We looked for good ones and found Golden Eagle gold bars.Now all we need to do is do some more research about it before we finally decide when and how to much to get. I think it will be a good investment for us.
Yay! I was rooting for Eli Manning and his guys to win the Super Bowl 46. Hubby, on the other hand, was rooting for Tom Brady.Good thing the Giants made it. For a while there I thought they won't since Brady and the Patriots did good for a while there. Whew!
